Filling in the blanks

The protesters slowly surround the riot police throwing rocks at them, the riot police shoots someone in the head. Its the most disturbing scene I've seen...

It was suppose to be peaceful, it turned ugly and I only hold the government responsible for it. fuck it i cant write

Atheist Take on Switzerland Ban of the Minarets

So Switzerland has voted to ban building on Minaret. Now, it's perfectly OK for a nation to decide what they would like to see in their cities, but for a country already criticized for its "Racist" immigration laws, passing such discriminatory laws are a step too far!

As it happens, I've never heard of churches or synagogues to be banned, why should the Mosque be any different? Islamo-phobia is reaching to a dangerous level in Europe. I see it everywhere: Its ok if certain countries wage an illegal war against uncivilized Arabs, but damn those terrorists, Because it's not Fascism if we do it.

Aggressive campaign against Minarets, or should I say Muslim presence in Eurpoe?
Sam Harris, a prominent Atheist philosopher, suggested that western Atheists should join in a pact with their christian neighbours for a war against Islamic terrorism. What Sam and the Swiss share, is ignoring the seculare muslims and Ex-Muslim Atheists and their influence on the Islamic world. The most valuable partner "Western Atheists" could have are "Eastern Atheists", but not when these guys are at war with our extrimist neighbours!

This is a clear case of discrimination in a continent so snuby about its human rights record, and for a "Nutral" country like Switzerland.

Just a question for the Swiss: "Have you heard about "United Nations Human Rights Charter"?

My angry letter to Espirit

Hi Espirit!

I have been a very loyal customer and I hate stop shopping from your brand, I have to say that I have had a very good shopping experience until last week. Half of my closet is full of your products: my jacket, loads of T shirts, shirts and trousers.

My general view on Espirit as a brand was good quality and great customer service. This was all until this Saturday:

Where I come from customer is always right, but apparently in your shop in Westfield customer is smelly.

I bought a pair of jeans on 1st of August and tried to return them on Saturday 8th. The store manager, whom I've been told by the staff on the phone today that her name is "Rubbie", sniffed the jeans and told me: "Oh, it smells, smells really bad. You've been wearing it!!!". This happened in front of other customers and members of staff.

I cannot explain my disbelief, of the way I've been treated. All I can say is that it was utterly rude and humiliating and I hate to think that it was actually RACIST.

I'm fine with my purchase and even with the fact that I've been refused a refund of my purchase (which is my statutory right as a consumer) but I cannot accept this kind of behavoiur at all. The least you would expect is to be respected not only as a customer but as a fellow human being.

but this recent incident have left me feeling disgusted and very disappointed. Therefore, I would like a formal apology from that company and a personal apology from the person I mentioned earlier.

Regards,

M N.

Nokia-Siemens another case of European ^&*^&*^

Nokia-Siemens has just proved what bullshitting is when theres money involved. Iran is not allowed to buy passenger planes or parts for its aging fleet, but at the same time european companies sell Iranian governemnt mobile tracing equipments.

Add to this all of the anti-riot equipments: Electric battons, tazer guns, internet filtering softwares...

There are unconfirmed reports of a chemical bullet being used against the protesters: After the bullet hits the skin it splashes a liquid which causes a heart attack within 24 hours. We're still waiting for confirmation on this one

I'm sorry Neda, I'm so sorry.

I'm worried sick!!! He just threatened demonstrators. What would happen tomorrow?

Thursday, 18 June 2009

Iranians frustration with freakishly religious oppressive ruling class has pushed them to the brink. Many of my friends believe that this might be their only chance to challenge the system. I don't believe this movement is strong enough to push for the regime change, but certainly it has been successful to help dismayed youth grow a pair and stand up to the fascist militia.

Fascism is the real threat behind this election, a well respected reformist analyst/activist grim warned that should Ahmadinejad win this election all of us have to escape in potato bags. Losing this election means a free pass for Al-Qaeda like Basij militia to oppress iranians even more. Now more and more it seems like people are being pushed into corner.

The next step for opposition is sit-in(s) and strikes. The next step for government animals is to openly shoot people in day light. There has been many deaths that we don't know about just because the media is banned from reaching the protest. A huge number of people has been injured/killed in provinces where the nearest foreign journalist is almost 400 miles away. There are reports of bodies being buried without families being informed. There is a great concern for protesters that have been arrested in the past few days. They could face death penalty because if challenging the religion!

Silent demonstration is an attempt to keep it civilized and to minimize the violence as much as possible. I haven't been sleeping properly for past 4 days! Let's see how the situation would unravel...

Our only hope: Global warming

Probably the greatest city that no one who'd lived there would ever miss is London. A city full of life: no matter what you're in to, you can always find something interesting going on. If you like chocolate or gay clubs, Metal music or 16th century Iran... you name it.

But all the Londoners and semi-Londoners have something in common: The shear hatred for British weather!

I find it quiet amazing that people have been living in this city for a millennium. The only hope for London is global warming!!!

Jon Stuart just called president Truman a war criminal for dropping 2 atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki!
With the international hype over his sweeping elecion victory slowly fading away, the first African American president of the United States of America has became just Mr. President, which in turn lets those of us who have been skeptical of his policies and personal capabilities all along to review his short but vitally important time in the office: first 100 days.

As an Iranian, I feel compelled to focus on his new approach to Iran. It's no secret that the US policy towards Iran over the past 30 years has been nothing short of a dismal failure.

In fact the new US administration has more on its plate that it actually wished for: In face of renewed pressure on Iran to abandon its nuclear program, Iran has successfully launched its first satellite(read testing its ballistic missiles capabilities), President Ahmadi Nejad staged a poorly judged/brilliant performance, depending on your view of Middle east conflict, and the spooky Iranian secret police has arrested Roxana Saberi, an Iranian American journalist.

Roxana Saberi with former Iranian President Mohammad Khatami.

The case of Ms. Saberi is especially interesting: Miss North Dakota 2007, "Roxana Saberi" Iranian American Japanese (!!!) journalist has been convicted to 8 years in prison for alleged espionage charges. She was arrested by Iranian secret police and initially charged with buying alcohol, and later on charged with illegal activities, a.k.a working as a reporter for NPR and BBC after her permit was expired in 2006. This is a clear indication of the messy power structure in Iran where the right wing freaks can easily do anything they want, mainly to undermine any prospect of negotiations with USA.

From the other side of the Persian Gulf, The newly elected right wing government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to step up the pressure on Obama's administration in coming months.

Obama has a lot to do to convince me that he can actually pull this one off. More & more an Iranian Nuke becomes closer to reality. Now it's just a matter of when rather than whether. This is certainly interesting times for all of us. With economy in shambles, international PR is doing an amazing job. Cashing out on Obama's charisma could potentially help states, but would it solve the issues with Iran?

Blacksmith

An evil king eating the brains of the children of his peasant subjects.

A hot blacksmith who's single and in love with the queen.

The king eats his nephew's brain.

The blacksmith is outraged and decides to kill the king.

But he cannot do it on his own, he needs the help of all the villagers.

The rebellion starts, the blacksmith's apron is the flag of the rebels.

The king escapes, the blacksmith takes over the palace and the queen.

The new king is happy, until the day he realize that his new queen can never have children.

So depressed and crushed, the blacksmith is tempted.

He starts eating the kids brain...

--------------------

Too cliche, I think I want the blacksmith to fall in love with the king

The Decembersits: Hazards of Love

If there are only few bands that can totally change someone's music taste, "The Decemberists" is definitely one of them. With their great variation in instruments and story like lyrics, the Indy rock group has introduced great tact to the struggling genre.

The new album, although a bit less acoustic, has gave me a new hope! Rock is back :)

Looking the other way

When everybody who cares is fascinated by Obama's Norooz(new persian year) message and the almost rude response by "Ayatollah Ali Khamenei" the religious leader of Iran, somewhere in a corner of the notorious Evin prison in Tehran, "Omid Reza Mir Seifi", the 27 year old blogger who was prisoned for insulting supreme leader, was left to die on a prison bed while doctors denied him any medication while his friend Dr. Hesam, also an inmate, was thrown out of the room. Here is Hesam's version of what happened.

He was my age, so much for a happy Norooz.

I'm just happy I wasn't named after my grandpa, I would have been "Wanker Nateghian Jr."!

"Why don't raise up agains bring a secular revolution in Iran?", she asked(pardon her English!).

It's easy: the supporters of the regime are ready to kill and we are not ready to die! After a bloody revolution + 8 years of war + 30 years of oppression by the state it's not that hard to understand why Iranians are tiered of violence and prefer a peaceful transition to a secular democratic state.

Home alone

With my flatmates gone for next 2 weeks, I have the house all to myself. I'm busy partying with dishes, cups and my favorite gal: PS3! Cooking for 4 and eating solo the same food for 3 days is not as much fun as you think! But on the bright side, I get to roam around the house naked and not having to clean the house at all! (Not to mention I love dressing up as M2, she has such a cool wardrobe)

"Ms. Once upon a time some where in the past, like 2 days after dinosaurs died" has came to haunt me as well! All the sudden she decides to drop by for a coffee (virtually speaking). So inappropriate, so not cool...

Violent protest has broken out at Amirkabir Polytechin in Tehran amid Islamic republic's decision to bury "Unidentified Martyrs" in small size cemetery on the campus, almost 20 years after the end of Iran-Iraq war.

Students are accusing the ultra-conservative establishment of using the burial as a pretext to militarize the universities by holding religious ceremonies largely attended by right wing militia backed by supreme leader "Ayatollah Ali Khamenei".

Over 70 students, at least 30 of which are female, have been arrested in a violent crack down of the peaceful protest. Videos of militia attacking students are widely published on the popular video sharing website: www.youtube.com
